Sri Lanka Police will deploy 63,000 officers to ensure a safe and orderly presidential election. These officers will be stationed at polling booths and counting centers across the country.
In addition to the Police, the army will be deployed at key economic centers to prevent any disruptions.
The Civil Security Force will provide 10,000 additional officers to assist in maintaining order, while the Police Special Task Force will conduct mobile patrols throughout the election period.
Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles warned that maximum force will be used against anyone engaging in violent behavior at polling stations on election day.
