New Zealand Secures Convincing 44-6 Victory Over Argentina, Setting Up Rugby World Cup Final Showdown

In a commanding display, Will Jordan achieve a remarkable hat-trick of tries, propelling New Zealand to a resounding 44-6 triumph over Argentina on Friday. This victory paves the way for a highly anticipated Rugby World Cup final against the winner of the second semi-final clash between England and defending champions South Africa.

The match, held amidst rainy conditions at the Stade de France, witnessed the All Blacks etch their name in history as the first team to reach the final of a World Cup for the fifth time.

Reflecting on the stellar performance, player of the match Jordie Barrett expressed, “It’s so sweet. It’s new territory for this group. I am just so proud of this group. It’s not done yet. We will have a very tough match regardless of who we have next week.”

The three-time champions, coming off a thrilling quarter-final victory against Ireland last week, dominated Los Pumas by scoring seven tries to none. Their play showcased a blend of robust early defense with dynamic and flamboyant attacks.

Entering the match, history favored New Zealand, having won 33 out of 36 previous encounters against Los Pumas. The latter had managed two victories, with one match ending in a draw.

While Emiliano Boffelli notched the opening points for Argentina with a fifth-minute penalty, New Zealand’s supremacy soon came to the forefront. Opting to forgo their initial chance at a goal kick, the All Blacks instead opted for an attacking line-out in the corner. After a series of precise pick-and-drives, a sweeping Richie Mo’unga pass located Jordan, allowing the winger to cruise across the try line, which the fly-half converted.

In a seamless display of coordination between forwards and backs, Jordan then played the role of provider, luring in the final defender just enough to create a gap for Jordie Barrett to secure New Zealand’s second try in the corner.
