In a statement delivered to Parliament on Wednesday (22), President Ranil Wickremesinghe announced the scheduling of Presidential and Parliamentary elections for the upcoming year. Emphasizing his commitment to prompt electoral processes, the President assured that the elections would not face any delays.
Furthermore, President Wickremesinghe disclosed his plan for subsequent elections, revealing that in 2025, the Provincial Council Election and the Local Government Election would be held. The President’s announcement came during the Budget Debate, underlining the government’s dedication to maintaining a timely and organized electoral schedule.
