The official letter relieving him of his duties as the Sports Minister was handed over to Ranasinghe upon his arrival at the Presidential Secretariat for the cabinet session this afternoon.
Furthermore, Roshan Ranasinghe has been dismissed from all other governmental positions he holds. The President’s decision comes in the wake of a strong statement made by Ranasinghe earlier today, where he criticized President Ranil Wickremesinghe and his Chief of Staff, Sagala Ratnayake. In his statement, Ranasinghe asserted that if any harm befell him, the President and Sagala must be held accountable.
