In a swift response to a nationwide outage, the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) has confirmed the complete restoration of power across the entire island within just five and a half hours.
The outage, which commenced at approximately 5:10 PM yesterday, was attributed to a fault in the transmission system between Kothmale and Biyagama. The CEB has promptly initiated a specialized investigation to identify and address the root cause of this disruption.
Engineer Noel Priyantha, the spokesperson for the CEB, acknowledged the considerable inconveniences caused by the outage for residents throughout the country. He further emphasized that a comprehensive investigation has been launched to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the fault, underscoring the commitment of the CEB to ensure the reliability and resilience of the national power grid.
