‘Shi yan 6’ will come to Sri Lanka after the President’s visit to China

The leader of India’s Pattali Makkal Katchi or PMK, Anbumani Ramadoss has said that Indian must warn Sri Lanka against allowing the Chinese geophysical scientific research vessel Shi yan 6 to dock in Colombo.

In a statement, Ramadoss said that the vessel, engaging in research for 17 days, is a shocking factor.

The Hindu newspaper had published the statement given by the leader of India’s Pattali Makkal Katchi or PMK.

Quoting Ramadoss, the newspaper reported that the research by the Chinese geophysical scientific research vessel Shi yan 6 is an attempt to spy on India’s southern area.

Ramadoss had noted that it is a threat to Tamil Nadu, and all other states in India.

The leader of India’s Pattali Makkal Katchi or PMK, Anbumani Ramadoss has said that there is an attempt to influence Sri Lanka to deny access to the Chinese vessel, in fear of the Indian government pressure.

He notes that eventually the Sri Lankan government will definitely grant permission for the Shi Yan 6 to reach Colombo.

The Chinese geophysical scientific research vessel Shi yan 6 was heading towards Sri Lanka, and was located close to the Andaman Islands.

Although, maritime tracking data claims the Shi Yan 6 will dock in Colombo on the 29th of September.

The arrival of this vessel, attracted India’s attention, and the regional powerhouse also informed Sri Lanka about it via diplomatic channels.

Earlier, Indian media reported that a request was made for the Chinese geophysical scientific research vessel Shi yan 6 to delay its visit until Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe concludes his visit to China in October of 2023.

However, the vessel continues to head towards Sri Lanka.
