The World Bank Allocates $34 Million Loan to Enhance Primary Health Care System through Empowerment Project

In a pivotal move, the World Bank has granted a loan of $34 million to fortify the primary health care system as part of the Primary Health Care System Empowerment Project. Dr. Jayasundara Bandara, the project director, affirmed that the decision to extend the loan was made subsequent to a meticulous assessment of the project’s outcomes.

This recent financial injection marks the latest installment in the World Bank’s ongoing commitment to the Primary Health Care System Empowerment Project, with an impressive cumulative contribution of nearly $160 million since the project’s initiation in 2019.

Dr. Bandara further disclosed that an additional $20 million in loan assistance is anticipated to be disbursed to the project in the near future, signifying the continued support and confidence the World Bank places in the initiative’s objectives.
