In a recent statement, Minister of Tourism and Lands and Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs, Harin Fernando, underscored that the principal factor contributing to Sri Lanka’s economic decline is the deficiency in discipline.
Minister Fernando expressed, “These are challenging times for most of us. Complaints about the VAT increase and other shortcomings are pervasive.”
Emphasizing that a fundamental shift in the system is not necessary, he conveyed that what Sri Lanka requires is a transformation in people’s ideologies.
Minister Harin articulated, “The major catalyst for our economic downturn is the absence of discipline. While our country’s system is noteworthy, there is a clamor for a system change. What we truly need, however, is not a system overhaul but a shift in people’s ideologies. It is imperative for the people to instill discipline within themselves.”
