President Ranil Wickremesinghe has affirmed a swift allocation of financial resources to tackle health and education challenges in the North, prioritizing identified needs. This commitment was articulated during a meeting held at the Jaffna District Secretariat on Saturday, where the President engaged with representatives from the health, education, and youth communities.
Noteworthy initiatives outlined in the President’s pledge include the allocation of land for a teaching hospital in Jaffna and the mobilization of funds to address teacher vacancies in the region.
The meeting saw the active participation of approximately 300 individuals representing these key sectors, providing an opportunity for the President to address their concerns directly and propose solutions to meet the identified needs.
