Commencing January 22nd, the city of Colombo will strategically repurpose its current CCTV network to actively identify and record instances of traffic violations.
This initiative follows a recent survey that brought to light a startling revelation: in regions equipped with CCTV cameras, the frequency of observed traffic offenses is a remarkable 300 times greater than those documented by police patrols.
