Water Supply to Be Restored in Godagama and Surrounding Areas by Midnight

The National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWS&DB) announced that the water supply to Godagama, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Pelanwatta, Rukmalgama, and Mattegoda will be restored by midnight today (17th).

The water supply was interrupted due to damage to the transmission pipeline from the Kalatuwawa Treatment Plant. Reports indicate that the pipeline burst near the High-Level Road in Godagama due to a vehicular accident. A car veered off the road and collided with the pipeline this morning, causing severe damage.

As a result, over 100,000 housing units in the affected areas have been without water until further notice.
