Showers or thundershowers are also expected in a few places in the Uva province and in the Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.
Strong winds of about 40-50 km/h can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, and in the Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
