Meteorology Department Forecasts Showers and Strong Winds Across Multiple Provinces

The Meteorology Department predicts showers at times in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

Fairly heavy showers, exceeding 50 mm, are likely in some areas, with several spells of showers expected in the North-western province.

Strong winds of about 50-55 kmph can be anticipated over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-central, and North-western provinces, as well as in the Trincomalee, Monaragala, and Hambantota districts.

Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph can be expected at times in other parts of the island.
