Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon Issues Safety Advisory Amid Regional Tensions

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon has issued a statement regarding the safety of Sri Lankan citizens residing in the country, following the recent escalation of tensions in the region.

The Embassy reassures Sri Lankans that there is no need for undue fear but urges them to exercise caution.

Ambassador Kapila Jayaweera emphasized the Embassy’s close communication with the Sri Lankan worker community, which currently numbers around 7,600. He assured the families of approximately 25 Sri Lankan workers in the conflict-affected southern regions that this group is safe.

The Embassy advises Sri Lankans in Lebanon to limit unnecessary travel and avoid crowded areas, while encouraging families to maintain regular contact with their loved ones in Lebanon.
