The “Samagi Jana Sandanaya” (SJS), a broad political alliance led by the Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB), was officially unveiled today under the leadership of SJB leader and presidential candidate Sajith Premadasa. This event was marked by the signing of agreements with several political parties.
Several political entities, including the SJB, the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (Dayasiri faction), Mano Ganesan’s Tamil Progressive Alliance (TPA), the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC), “Nidahasa Janatha Sabhawa,” and Arjuna Ranatunga’s “Purawesi Handa,” have agreed to form the “Samagi Jana Sandanaya” (SJS) alliance.
This coalition is set to support the SJB candidate, Sajith Premadasa, in the upcoming Presidential Election.
The ceremonial launch of the new alliance took place at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo.
The SJB will collaborate with several political parties holding seats in Parliament to contest the upcoming Presidential Election.
Additionally, the policies of the ‘Samagi Jana Sandanaya’ will be announced today, and SJB leader Sajith Premadasa will be formally presented as the Presidential Candidate of the alliance.
