P. Ariyanethran Nominated as Tamil Common Candidate for Sri Lanka’s Presidential Election

Former Member of Parliament P. Ariyanethran has been nominated as the Tamil Common Candidate for the upcoming presidential election in Sri Lanka.

The announcement was made during an event in Jaffna.

Ariyanethran will contest this year’s presidential race, representing an alliance of seven Tamil political parties from the Northern and Eastern provinces, alongside various civil organizations.

The alliance supporting Ariyanethran includes prominent groups such as the Tamil Eelam Liberation Organization (TELO) led by MP Selvam Adaikkalanathan, the People’s Liberation Organisation of Tamil Eelam (PLOTE) under MP Dharmalingam Siddharthan, and the Tamil Makkal Koottani, led by MP CV Wigneswaran.
