Sri Lanka has welcomed 26,889 tourists in the first four days of August, according to the latest data released by the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA).
Leading the pack, Indian tourists accounted for 3,922 arrivals, representing 14.6% of the total. The United Kingdom followed closely, with 3,350 visitors, making up 12.5% of the total arrivals between August 1st and 4th.
Significant numbers of tourists also arrived from China, France, Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands.
From January 1st to August 4th, Sri Lanka has already welcomed 1,224,948 tourists, achieving more than half of the country’s annual target of 2.3 million tourist visits.
