The Meteorology Department has announced that showers or thundershowers are expected intermittently in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Southern, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely in some areas of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the Galle and Matara districts.
Showers or thundershowers are also anticipated in several locations within the Eastern, Uva, and North-Central provinces during the evening or night.
Additionally, fairly strong winds of approximately 30-40 km/h are expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the Northern, North-Central, North-Western provinces, and the Hambantota district.
The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risk of damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
