The Meteorology Department has forecasted several spells of light showers in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the districts of Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara.
Showers or thundershowers are also expected in a few areas in the Eastern and Uva provinces and the Polonnaruwa district during the evening or night.
Fairly strong winds of about 30-40 kmph are anticipated at times over the western slopes of the central hills, and in the Northern, North-Central, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Hambantota district.
The general public is kindly urged to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
