Postal Voting for the 2024 Presidential Election Ends Today

The postal voting process for the 2024 Presidential Election is set to conclude today (September 12). Government employees who were unable to cast their postal votes on September 4, 5, and 6 were given an additional chance to vote yesterday and today.

Eligible postal voters can cast their votes at the district election office or the Divisional Secretariat corresponding to their workplace. However, the Election Commission has announced that after today, government employees who applied for postal voting will no longer have the opportunity to vote by post.

In a related development, the deadline for submitting nominations for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha in the 2024 Local Government Elections also ends today. The Election Commission stated that nominations will be accepted at the Galle District Secretariat until 12:00 noon today.

The deadline for election deposits for the Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha Elections ended yesterday, with ten political parties and two independent groups having placed their deposits.
