The Department of Meteorology has forecast showers or thundershowers in the Southern Province, with occasional showers in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
In the Eastern and Uva provinces, showers or thundershowers are expected in several areas during the evening or night.
Strong winds ranging from 40 to 45 km/h are also anticipated over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the North-central and Southern provinces.
The public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize the risks of localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
