The Department of Meteorology has announced that several spells of showers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Southern provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers may also occur in isolated areas of the Eastern and Uva provinces during the evening or night.
Additionally, strong winds ranging from 40-45 km/h are anticipated at times over the western slopes of the central hills, as well as in the North-central and Southern provinces.
The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
