International Election Observers to Submit Final Report on Presidential Election to Election Commission Today

The final report from international election observers on the recent presidential election will be submitted to the Election Commission this afternoon.

Chairman of the Election Commission, R.M.A.L. Ratnayake, confirmed that international observers are scheduled to meet with the commission later today to present their findings.

Domestic observers have also verified that the election was conducted peacefully and without incident.

Meanwhile, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, leader of the National People’s Power, will be sworn in as the 9th Executive President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka this morning at the Presidential Secretariat.

In the election held two days ago, Dissanayake secured 5,634,915 votes, representing 42.28% of the total votes in the first count.
