US President Joe Biden extended his congratulations to Sri Lanka’s newly elected President, Anura Kumara Dissanayake, on his successful election to office.
“The people of Sri Lanka chose you as their president in a free, fair, and peaceful election, of which they are justifiably proud,” President Biden remarked.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Thursday, Biden expressed his enthusiasm for future collaboration, stating, “I look forward to working with you to advance peace, security, and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region.”
