In a significant move to bolster its tourism industry, the Cabinet of Ministers in Sri Lanka has officially approved the exemption of visa fees for tourists arriving from five prominent nations. These countries include China, Russia, India, Thailand, and Indonesia.
Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority (SLTDA), Priyantha Fernando, shared that this decision was made with the goal of enhancing the nation’s appeal to international tourists. Furthermore, discussions are currently underway, particularly with China, regarding the potential establishment of an additional airline to accommodate the expected surge in tourist arrivals.
This remarkable initiative not only simplifies the travel process but also positions Sri Lanka as an increasingly attractive destination for tourists from these key countries, marking a promising step towards revitalizing the tourism sector.
