All General Election Candidates Must Submit Asset Declarations by November 14, 2024, in Compliance with Anti-Corruption Act

The Election Commission has announced that all candidates contesting the upcoming general election on November 14, 2024, are required to submit declarations of their assets and liabilities, in accordance with the Anti-Corruption Act No. 09 of 2023.

In a statement, Commissioner General of Elections Saman Sri Ratnayake stated that candidates from both political parties and independent groups must submit their asset declarations along with their nomination papers.

Additionally, the Election Commission confirmed that those seeking national list nominations are also required to provide their declarations of assets and liabilities.
