Sarath Ganegoda has been appointed as the new Chairman of SriLankan Airlines, effective from today (09). Along with his appointment, a new Board of Directors has been named to oversee the national carrier under his leadership.
The newly appointed Board of Directors for SriLankan Airlines includes:

- Mr. Sugath Rajapakse
- Mr. Eranga Rohan Peiris Goonetilleke
- Mr. D. Arandara
- Mr. Ananda Athukorale
- Mr. Lakmal Ratnayake
- Mr. Niranjan Arulpragasam
Mr. Ganegoda, a renowned business leader, currently serves as the Group Executive Director of Hayleys PLC and the Deputy Chairman of Alumex PLC. He joined the Hayleys Group in 2007 and was appointed to the Group Management Committee the same year. In September 2009, he became a member of the Board of Hayleys PLC and joined the Board of Alumex PLC in November 2010.
He is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (CA Sri Lanka) and a member of the Institute of Chartered Management Accountants of Australia. He also holds an MBA from the Postgraduate Institute of Management, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Mr. Ganegoda has held several senior management roles in both local and international companies.
