A new program has been launched to send critical national security information directly to mobile phones via SMS.
According to Ministry of Defence spokesperson Colonel Nalin Herath, this system will provide immediate notifications during emergencies and will also share information related to human trafficking through text messages.
The initiative is being carried out in partnership with mobile service providers and the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission.
