Sri Lanka Engages in Talks with India to Adopt GatiShakti Infrastructure Planning Model

Sri Lanka is in discussions with New Delhi to adopt India’s PM GatiShakti National Master Plan, an integrated project planning tool that has successfully facilitated infrastructure projects worth over INR 15 trillion since its launch three years ago.

Launched on October 13, 2021, the GatiShakti initiative aims to enhance multi-modal connectivity and streamline infrastructure planning by integrating data from various ministries and state governments. Its focus on efficiency and transparency has made GatiShakti a model for effective infrastructure development.

India’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry has confirmed ongoing diplomatic engagements with neighboring countries and other developing nations, including Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Madagascar, Senegal, and Gambia.
