The Meteorology Department has announced that several spells of rain are expected in the Northern Province today. Additionally, light showers may occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya districts.
Showers or thundershowers are also forecast for a few locations in the Uva and Eastern provinces during the evening or night.
The public is urged to take appropriate precautions to reduce the risk of damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
