Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation, Vijitha Herath, has instructed officials to ensure that vehicle revenue licenses issued in the Western Province are seamlessly integrated with those of other provinces.
In an official statement, the Ministry of Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation emphasized that the lack of inter-provincial coordination has been a significant challenge for vehicle owners, particularly in the Western Province. Despite previous efforts to resolve the issue, the region—facing the highest demand—has yet to implement the necessary improvements.
Vehicle owners with registrations in other provinces have long complained about the cumbersome process of obtaining revenue licenses, involving significant time, effort, and expense. In response, Minister Herath has directed the Governor of the Western Province to accelerate the process and improve coordination between provincial departments.
