The Government Information Department has issued a statement confirming that the privileges granted to former Presidents have not been revoked, addressing recent media reports that claimed vehicles provided to ex-Presidents had been withdrawn.
The statement clarified that while former Presidents retain their privileges, only surplus vehicles have been returned.
Specifically, the Director General of Government Information revealed that former President Mahinda Rajapaksa returned 8 out of the 16 vehicles allocated to him, while former President Ranil Wickremesinghe currently retains 11 vehicles.
