IMF Managing Director Meets with Sri Lanka’s Delegation at 2024 Annual Meetings

Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), met with Sri Lanka’s delegation, led by Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe, on the sidelines of the 2024 Annual Meetings of the IMF and World Bank Group in Washington, DC.

In a post on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), Georgieva expressed her encouragement over Sri Lanka’s commitment to continue reforms aimed at preserving the hard-won gains under the IMF-supported program. She also reaffirmed the IMF’s commitment to helping Sri Lanka build a better future for its citizens.

The Sri Lankan delegation includes Finance Secretary Mahinda Siriwardena and Senior Economic Advisor to the President, Duminda Hulangamuwa.
