The government has begun issuing passport books featuring a new, unique design aimed at promoting tourism in Sri Lanka. The updated passports include pages showcasing images of various prominent tourist attractions across the country.
Cabinet Spokesman Minister Vijitha Herath also announced that the recent passport shortage has been resolved, with 50,000 new passports expected to arrive in Sri Lanka this week.
“A batch of approximately 7,500 passports arrived on Saturday, and another 42,000 are set to arrive on Wednesday (23),” Minister Herath said, assuring that the public will soon be able to obtain their passports.
