The Election Commission has announced that polling stations will be set up across the island based on the number of registered voters for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
In the Colombo District, 1,204 polling stations will serve 1,765,351 registered voters, while the Gampaha District will have 1,212 polling stations for its 1,881,129 voters. The Kalutara District will feature 735 polling stations to accommodate 1,024,240 voters.
The Mannar District has the lowest number of registered voters, with 90,607 individuals, for whom 108 polling stations will be available.
In total, 13,421 polling stations will be established island-wide, and 2,034 counting centers will be in operation. The Election Commission has confirmed that 17,430,354 voters are eligible to participate in the parliamentary elections.
