In celebration of Deepavali, an important festival for the Tamil community, the Sri Lanka State Plantations Corporation has raised the annual festival allowance by Rs. 10,000. Previously set at Rs. 10,000, the allowance will now be Rs. 20,000.
The Ministry of Plantation Industries stated that this increase was implemented in response to the declining purchasing power of plantation workers, aiming to provide additional financial support during the festive season.
