The marking of postal votes for the upcoming 2024 General Election entered its second day today (November 1), following the commencement on October 30.
According to the Election Commission, postal voting is taking place across all police stations, District Secretariats, Election Commission offices, and the Inspector General of Police’s offices. In addition, postal voting will be available today (November 1) and again on November 4 for members of the armed forces and employees of other government institutions, as confirmed by Commissioner General of Elections, Saman Sri Rathnayake.
The Election Commission also announced that postal voters unable to cast their ballots on these specified days will be given an additional opportunity to vote at the District Secretariat nearest their workplace on November 7 and 8.
