Examination Department Bans Mobile Phones for Invigilators at GCE A/L Exam Halls

The Department of Examinations has prohibited invigilators from bringing mobile phones into GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination halls. Only the chief invigilator and the additional chief invigilator at each examination center are allowed to carry mobile phones.

This measure has been implemented to address issues that have occurred in the past.

Furthermore, all lectures, tuition classes, workshops, and seminars related to the GCE A/L examination will be banned starting from midnight on November 19.

The Department of Examinations has warned that legal action will be taken against those who fail to comply with these regulations. Supervision efforts have been strengthened, with officers from the Examination Department, as well as provincial and zonal offices, overseeing the process.

Each invigilator is responsible for covering 20 examination centers within a 15-day period.

This year’s GCE A/L examination is scheduled to take place from November 25 to December 20.
