The Meteorology Department has forecast showers at times in the Northern and Eastern provinces, with fairly heavy rainfall of about 50 mm likely in some areas.
Showers or thundershowers are expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, North-western, and North-central provinces during the evening or night. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is anticipated in some parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts.
Misty conditions are likely in the morning across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and Uva provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara districts.
The public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
