The first phase of distributing fertilizer subsidies for the Maha season has been completed, covering 23 districts and 86,162 hectares.
According to the Agrarian Services Department, approximately 1.29 billion rupees have been allocated to benefit 129,229 farmers across the country.
Commissioner General of Agrarian Services, Rohana Rajapaksha, noted that the distribution of the fertilizer subsidy will depend on the progress of plantation activities.
In some parts of the Polonnaruwa district, the subsidy distribution has been delayed due to the late release of water from the Giritale and Kaudulla reservoirs.
