At precisely 12 noon on Tuesday the 17th, the Professionals Trade Union Collective is set to stage a powerful strike in front of the Ministry of Finance in Colombo.
Dr. Chamil Wijesinghe, the spokesperson of the Government Medical Officers’ Association, emphasized that this protest will highlight a range of concerns, notably the proposed alterations to the government’s tax policy subsequent to the initial International Monetary Fund review.
This marks the latest in a series of organized strikes by the trade unions against the government’s tax policy, underlining their steadfast commitment to achieving a fair and balanced fiscal framework.
