The National Building and Research Organisation (NBRO) has issued early landslide warnings for several areas across eight districts as heavy rainfall continues to impact parts of Sri Lanka.
These warnings will remain in effect until 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (Dec. 01), the NBRO announced.
Level 2 (Amber) Warnings
A Level 2 (Amber) warning has been issued for the following Divisional Secretariat Divisions (DSDs) and surrounding areas:
- Badulla District: Passara, Hali Ela, Meegahakivula, and Bandarawela.
- Kandy District: Yatinuwara, Udapalatha, Ududumbara, Deltota, Gangawata Koralaya, Patha Hewaheta, Harispatthuwa, Pathadumbara, Medadumbara, Doluwa, Udunuwara, Thumpane, Pujapitiya, Panwila, Pabage Koralaya, Akurana, Hatharaliyadda, and Ganga Ihala Koralaya.
- Kegalle District: Mawanella, Rambukkana, Warakapola, Ruwanwella, Galigamuwa, Bulathkohupitiya, Aranayake, and Yatiyantota.
- Nuwara-Eliya District: Hanguranketha, Kothmale, and Walapane.
Level 1 (Yellow) Warnings
A Level 1 (Yellow) warning has been issued for:
- Badulla District: Haldummulla, Ella, Lunugala, Soranatota, Kandaketiya, Uva Paranagama, Welimada, and Haputale.
- Colombo District: Seethawaka.
- Gampaha District: Attanagalla.
- Kegalle District: Dehiowita, Deraniyagala, and Kegalle.
- Kurunegala District: Ridigama and Mawathagama.
- Nuwara-Eliya District: Ambagamuwa and Nuwara-Eliya.
- Ratnapura District: Imbulpe, Eheliyagoda, and Balangoda.
Residents in these areas are urged to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, particularly in regions identified as high-risk.
