Transfers 54 Senior Police Officers in Major Reshuffle

The National Police Commission has approved the immediate transfer of 54 senior police officers in Sri Lanka, including several high-profile appointments.

Key Transfers:

  • SSP I.S. Muthumala has been appointed as the new Director of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), succeeding SSP M.M. Dehideniya, who now takes charge of the Nugegoda Division as Officer in Charge (OIC).
  • DIG H.D.K.S. Perera is the new Director of the Terrorism Investigation Division.
  • SSP I.U.K. Lokuhettige will lead the Colombo Crimes Division.
  • SSP K.B. Manathunga has been named Director of the Police Media Division and Police Spokesperson.
  • SSP H.M.L. Amarasena takes over as Director of the Special Investigations Unit.

  • DIG S.M.Y. Senaviratne as DIG in charge of Kegalle District.
