Amber Advisory Issued for Heavy Rains in Western and Sabaragamuwa Provinces, Kandy, and Nuwara-Eliya

The Department of Meteorology has issued an ‘Amber’ advisory for heavy rains in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, as well as in the Kandy and Nuwara-Eliya districts.

The advisory indicates that heavy showers exceeding 100 mm are expected in some areas of these regions over the next 24 hours, until 1:00 p.m. tomorrow (14th).

The general public is kindly advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
