The Sri Lanka Bar Association has decided to oppose the new Anti-Terrorism Bill and the Online Security Bill which have been gazetted by the government.
A resolution was passed today at the Bar Council and both bills seems to be a serious threat to the democracy and the freedom of the people.
BASL has decided to inform the government not to pass the two bills. It is reported that BASL has decided to challenge the two bills before the Supreme Court.
