The British High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Andrew Patrick, has expressed his eagerness to further strengthen the strong bilateral relationship between Sri Lanka and the United Kingdom.
In a meeting today (Nov. 6) with Secretary to the President Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumanayake, Mr. Patrick proposed educating Sri Lankan parliamentarians about the British parliamentary system to improve governance in Sri Lanka. He also emphasized the importance of the British local government model, highlighting its potential to minimize fraud and corruption.
Additionally, the High Commissioner praised Sri Lanka’s ongoing collaboration with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and expressed the British Government’s readiness to support efforts aimed at combating fraud, reducing corruption, and enhancing state revenue.
