The Cabinet has approved the signing of a corporation agreement between Sri Lanka’s Export Development Board (EDB) and the International Finance Corporation (IFC). This agreement aims to provide essential facilities to help small and medium entrepreneurs transition into exporters.
The proposed agreement is part of a program designed to support the development of new exporters through the EDB, specifically targeting small and medium-sized enterprises with export potential.
The agreement has received clearance from the Attorney General and recommendations from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Consequently, the Cabinet endorsed the proposal presented by the President, in his role as Minister of Investment Promotion, to formalize the corporation agreement between the EDB and the IFC.
