Chinese National Defence University Delegation Visits Sri Lanka Navy Headquarters

A National Defence University (NDU) delegation from the People’s Republic of China, currently in Sri Lanka for an overseas study tour, visited the Navy Headquarters on Tuesday, June 18, 2024. During the visit, the delegation met with the Commander of the Navy, Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera.

The NDU delegation, comprising 41 student officers, was led by Rear Admiral Hu Gangfeng. The delegation’s visit to Sri Lanka spans from June 16 to June 19.

In their official interaction, Rear Admiral Hu Gangfeng and Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera discussed various matters of mutual interest. The occasion was marked by an exchange of mementos, underscoring the significance of the visit.

Additionally, the delegation attended a briefing by the Commander of the Navy, who outlined the roles and responsibilities of the Sri Lanka Navy. The event was also attended by the Chief of Staff of the Navy, Rear Admiral Pradeep Rathnayake; Director General Operation, Rear Admiral Nishantha Peiris; Director General Training, Rear Admiral Buddhika Liyanagamage; Naval Assistant to the Commander of the Navy, Rear Admiral Kosala Warnakulasooriya; and Defence Attaché of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Colombo, Senior Colonel Zhou Bo.
