The Colombo High Court has set a hearing date for November 29 for the case filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) against former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella and the former Chairman of the State Printing Corporation.
This order was issued today (October 3) when the relevant plaint was presented before Colombo High Court Judge Sujeewa Nissanka. Former Minister Rambukwella was present in court during the proceedings.
The High Court judge confirmed that the case would be heard on November 29, as previously scheduled.
Both Rambukwella and former Chairman of the State Printing Corporation, Jayampathi Bandara Heenkenda, are accused of misappropriating funds belonging to the corporation to cover Rambukwella’s personal telephone bill, which amounted to Rs. 230,000 between March and April 2012, during his tenure as Minister of Mass Media.
