The All-Share Price Index (ASPI) of the Colombo Stock Exchange (CSE) surpassed the 14,500-point mark for the first time in history today, setting a new all-time high.
The ASPI gained 295 points (2.08%), closing at 14,500.44 points. Meanwhile, the S&P SL20 Index, which tracks the performance of 20 leading companies, rose by 105.37 points (2.48%) to close at 4,349.82 points.
The day’s trading saw a robust turnover of over Rs. 8.27 billion, with more than 211 million shares changing hands.
The milestone reflects strong investor confidence and continued momentum in the Sri Lankan stock market, driven by renewed economic optimism and increased market activity.
